Gallery of Treasures of the Forbidden City
The Gallery of Treasures is located in the Complex of Tranquil Longevity in the Outer East Route to display the treasures collected and used by the imperial family. There are the Twenty-Five Imperial Seals chosen by Emperor Qianlong for the use of political, military and cultural affairs. Da Yu Taming the Waters,the biggestjade boulder in the Forbidden City is also displayed here. In addition, there are ivory mat, weaponry, jewelry, fur-nishings as well as gold bells andjade chime as court musical instruments, etc.
The exhibits Stone Drums bear witness to the ancient Chinese civilization. They were found in Yongcheng, Shaanxi and were made around 374 BC to record the leaming of crown prince in literature and martial arts and his pamcipation in state affairs.
