The courtyard around the Palace of Heavenly Purity in the Forbidden City is the center of the Inner Court. In order to serve the emperor more timely and flexibly, the court set some service organs in the wings of he Palace. The east wing mainly serves the imperial life while the west wing acts as administrative offices.

The west wing shows an exhibition about the emperor's birthday celebrations today.
