Hall of Eminent Flowers in the Forbidden City

The Hall of Eminent Flowers in the Forbidden City, the hall for worshipping Buddha in the Ming and Qing dynasties, is famous for two pipuls, whose bodhis with golden lines is called “Treasured Bead” and was usually granted by the emperor as special reward. Fond of these pipuls, Emperor Qianlong often wrote poems to praise them, some of which are arved on the stele housed by a pavilion between them. Now, the carved Manchu and Chinese characters on this stele are still fairly clear.
