Hall of Central Uprightness in the Forbidden City
North to the Gate of Spring Flower and south to the Garden of Creating Happiness, the Complex of Central Uprightness in the Forbidden City mainly consists of the Hall of Central Uprightness, the Pavilion of Fragrant Clouds, the Hall of Treasured Flower, the Pavilion of Rain f Flowers and the Tower of Buddhist Origin. In 1923, the buildings northward from the Hall of Treasured Flower were te burned down. Now the Garden of Creating Happiness has nearly been reconstructed and the reconstruction of the Hall of Central Uprightness started in 2004. Soon the former glory will reappear, but the original furnishing can only be alive in your imagination. In the Ming dynasty, the Hall of Central Uprightness was an important place to hold Daoist rites. In the Qing dynasty, it became one of the earliest halls for shipping Buddha and housed a large number of Buddhist statues and paintings from Tibet and Mongolia.
