Screen Wall of Nine Dragons in the Forbidden City
There are three large Screen Walls of Nine Dragons in the Forbidden City in China. He earliest one was built in the Ming dynasty in Datong, Shangxi province. The other two are in Beijing: One is in Beihai Park ‘the Park of North Lake) with carvings on both sides; another one is in the Palace Museum. Covered with 270 glazed tiles, it is 71.6 meters long, 2.94 meters wide and 3.5 meters high. On the surface of the wall, nine vivid dragons are flying over seas and cliffs in different forms.
